Classification
The bones of the upper limb (ossa membri superioris) are divided into the bones of the shoulder girdle (cingulum membri superioris) and the bones of the free part of the upper limb (pars libera membri superioris).
The bones of the shoulder girdle are the following:
Clavicle (clavicula)
Scapula (scapula)
The bones of the free part are:
Humerus (humerus)
Ulna (ulna)
Radius (radius)
Carpal bones (ossa carpi)
Metacarpals (ossa metacarpi)
Phalanges (phalanges/ossa digitorum)
All bones are paired and connected to each other so that the upper limb can perform a large variety of movements in several planes.
